ATLANTA – The annual Emory Jazz Fest returns for two weekends of performances February 6 through 13.

On Saturday, February 6 at 8 p.m., as part of the 2015-2016 Candler Concert Series, the Julian Bliss Septet brings A Tribute to Benny Goodman to the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts. One of the world's finest solo clarinetists, Julian Bliss leads his septet through some of the great tunes of the swing era off their debut disc, "Benny Goodman – The King of Swing.” The skillful septet stays true to the genre's authentic feel, while adding their own modern twist.

Acclaimed clarinetist and saxophonist Anat Cohen joins Emory’s own Gary Motley Trio for a lively concert Friday, February 12 at 8 p.m. Cohen has been named Clarinetist of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association eight years in a row, and been praised as “the real deal” by The New York Times.

Big Band Night closes out Emory Jazz Fest Saturday, February 13 at 8 p.m. with a free, public performance featuring the Gary Motley Trio, Emory Big Band and the Emory University Symphony Orchestra Strings. A perennial favorite, patrons are advised to arrive early for this show.

Tickets for the Julian Bliss Septet are $35; $28 for discount categories and $5 for Emory students. Tickets for Anat Cohen with the Gary Motley Trio are $25; $20 for discount categories and $5 for Emory students.
