ATLANTA - The once blank walls of the Emory Career Center now proudly display the artistic works of many talented Emory University students. On January 15, 2020, the Career Center Gallery opens as the most recent campus building to feature student paintings, photographs, and drawings in a professional capacity. The gallery spans the Career Center’s lounge and five of the interview rooms.

Center for Creativity and Arts staff member Maggie Beker and Career Center sr. associate director Beth White advocated for the gallery in order to celebrate student artistic talent while elevating the environment of the Career Center. The spring 2020 gallery features art by 17 undergraduate and graduate students.

“The Emory Career Center is thrilled to be designated as the newest student art gallery,” says Career Center executive director Paul Fowler. “The Center hosts hundreds of recruiters every year and while students participating in interviews highlight their value through conversation, having incredible student artwork on the walls of the recruiting rooms and lounge allows us to showcase the immense talent of students who may not be pursuing traditional corporate career paths.”

In addition to hosting hundreds of recruiters, over 5,000 students use the Career Center resources every year. “Having vibrant art adorn the walls creates an inviting and energizing environment for the students we serve,” adds Fowler.

The Career Center Gallery will rotate every semester, continually allowing student artists the opportunity to display their work.

A gallery opening reception will be held January 15, 2020 at 6 p.m. in the Career Center. Light drink and refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Maggie Beker at or 404-727-5674.
