Fiction writer, playwright, and screenwriterJoseph Skibell, Associate Professor of English and Creative Writing at Emory, is the first reader in the spring 2011 Creative Writing Program Reading Series.

Reading from his latest novel, A Curable Romantic, Skibell shares with his audience what Tony Bailie in the New York Journal of Books calls "a brave novel, unafraid to undertake big themes and ideas…hugely accomplished." Join Joseph Skibell and the Creative Writing Program at Emory for an unforgettable romp through modern history, beginning in Fin de Siècle Vienna, where Skibell's young hero befriends Sigmund Freud, and ending in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1940.

Skibell will present a reading on Mon., Feb. 7, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the Jones Room, 311 Woodruff Library. His reading will be preceded by a reception at 6 p.m. and followed by a booksigning.
