Friends of Visual Arts
The Visual Arts Department & Gallery is Emory’s center for the study and presentation of contemporary art that receives essential support from Friends of Visual Arts (FOVA). This group of art lovers and artists foster the mission, programs, and growth of the Department and Gallery through funding for student projects, exhibitions, lectures, and visiting artists.
In 2009-2010, FOVA members will experience the series, The Lucid Eye: A Year of Photography at Emory, through solo exhibitions of new work by Joel Leivick, Dawoud Bey, and Ruth Dusseault, and an inaugural show of twentieth-century masterworks from the collection of Atlanta law firm Arnall Golden Gregory. The Gallery will also show the first-annual juried exhibition exclusively for FOVA members Picturing Home, which will be selected by Julian Cox, Curator of Photography, High Museum of Art, and Jason Francisco, acclaimed photographer and chair of Emory’s Visual Arts Department.
